CREATIVITY ENCOURAGED AT TRUMAN

The Old Truman Brewery has become the creative hub of London's East End hence why there are many creative businesses housed within the Brewery itself, including fashion designers, artists, graphic designers, architects, recording and photographic studios among more. There is such a unique atmosphere within this hub that many artists want to express and mark their art here. For example, we currently have a fantastic piece by Kyle Hughes-Odger on Buxton Street gate and before that the gate was adorned with fantastic work by Irish artist James Earley. Leading community art pioneer Banksy has been exhibiting his infamous "pink car" in Ely's Yard for well over a decade which just goes to show how Truman has always been at the forefront for exhibiting and supporting great artists. Even Corbet Place regularly has different artists come in to design the two massive front plaques of the bar.

The Old Truman Brewery itself is a community with a unique backdrop, urban architecture, creative businesses, trendy hang outs such as the weekend markets, boutiques bars and restaurants.

SON LUX // 7TH AUGUST //
Son Lux are certainly never easy to pin down, so make the most them being in town! The project, founded by New York's Ryan Lott, is an exploration of the jagged, icy line between the strange and the familiar, in which sonic structures supplant the conventions of pop form. This trio have meticulously woven together dizzying percussion, fraying guitar, symphonic bluster, and haunting vocals into a quaking and vivid post-pop (post-everything) burst called 'Bones'. Buy Son Lux's latest album 'Bones' and collect your wristband for this live in-store performance.

GOLDEN RULES // 10TH AUGUST //
Golden Rules present their debut album of soulful, psychedelic hip-hop, 'Golden Ticket', which will be out on 7th August on Lex Records. 'Golden Ticket' uses mostly live instrumentation incorporating psych rock, dub, soul and disco into a hard-hitting hip-hop set. Same as Son Lux, if you buy their new album you get a wristband for the gig, so ensure you don't miss out and buy the album.

The newest addition to Truman's food delights corner, just off Ely's Yard, is Pizza Purist. The name couldn't describe the concept any better! The head chef Alberto has created a concise menu of five Italian sour dough pizzas which can satisfy all pizza cravings! Pizza just doesn’t get more Italian or any better than this! The freshly baked authentic pizzas are being sold at the very affordable price of either £5 or £6. All the pizzas are made with the freshest Italian ingredients, which have been selected by the pizza mastermind, Alberto.
