Saturday 22nd April is Record Store Day, celebrating the unique culture of the music community to celebrate 10 years of what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar. Hundreds of independent record shops all over the world will be celebrating this day with special vinyl releases, and special performances from artists to mark the occasion.

Rough Trade East

As well as celebrating 10 years of Record Store Day, this year marks Rough Trade's 10th anniversary with us in their space at the Truman Brewery. Cue celebrating the way they do best: with staff working around the clock to hunt down the best deals for the crazy queues; and a fantastic line-up of live beats and bands throughout the day.

We talked to the guys at Rough Trade about what to expect and why people should come: "Even if you’re not a collector, Record Store Day is about supporting places that champion music, community, creativity and fun. So you’ve basically got no excuse not to come down and say hello."

This year also, Rough Trade will be partnering up with WE ARE ROBOTS a music festival at the Old Truman Brewery on the 2nd November. Hosting a Q&A session entitled "The Future of Record Sales" in the afternoon followed by an evening event in the Boiler House.
