| Ely's Yard is the heart of the Truman Brewery. Over the years it has become the central hub for events, home to diverse collection of markets and a well-known area for Street Art, with work on display from Banksy, Vhils, Invader, Shepard Fairey and D*Face. When the sun shines you'll find the pavements lined with local creatives, city workers and tourists, making Ely's Yard the perfect place to house our permanent food traders: |

We went down to Ely's Yard to visit the food traders; La Piadina Pronto, Orange Buffalo and Turner & Roast - With the sun forgetting to make an appearance we found ourselves huddled under Orange Buffalo's large heated canopy with all the other late afternoon snackers. Not only did we find a fantastic selection of food, we also had a chat and a giggle with the ever so charming traders!
With a choice of Classic British, Italian and American Cuisines its hard to decide what to go for first. Taking the diplomatic decision of going from right to left, we began with Turner & Roast's pulled pork and grilled cheese, an extremely tasty, filling sandwich with deep-fried red pickled onions that are a work of genius! Turner & Roast's truck has the feel of an Old English Butchers, which reflects its classic menu perfectly. |

Next was the turn of Orange Buffalo and their much publicised Buffalo Wings, featured on CNN and a
favourite of all who try them, they didn't disappoint! With a selection of different degrees of spiciness the guys will talk
you through whether you're an Original, a Viper or a Woof Woof - their hottest sauce with Scotch Bonnets and Naga Chilli! Not to worry if you do go a bit spicier than planned as all wings are served with
cooling blue
cheese dip and celery sticks. |

| Last but not least there's La Piadina Pronto, offering a lighter option of cured Italian meats, fresh cheeses and salad all wrapped up in the deliciously distinctive Italian 'Piadina'. La Piadina's truck is decorated like a vintage Italian kitchen - with parma ham and salamis from Italy adorning the front shelf, each as pretty as they are tasty! |

| After eating we had time to chat with the traders and found each one equally as proud as the other to be offering delicious, fresh, local produce every day of the week. The biggest challenge discussed was our wonderful British weather! Their individual passion for food is inspiring and opens your eyes to the choice of food available on our doorstep here at The Old Truman Brewery - so next time you think about grabbing a quick sandwich from the shop, why not think again and go and say "Hi" to the guys in Ely's Yard! |
