In the late 90s our founder, Rob Green, found himself working and traveling through Sri Lanka. Falling in love with the Hill Country, a mountainous region in the centre surrounded by tree plantations. Returning to the UK laden with beautiful tea Rob set up a market stall in Borough Market alongside other brilliant producers some of whom we still work with today.
Soon after an opportunity to open a park cafe in East London came Rob's way, which, with great enthusiasm, he embraced and the Pavilion was created. Serving up hearty bowls of Sri Lankan Dhal with house Chai brewing behind the counter our little waterside spot in Victoria Park went from strength to strength.
